Deadlines

The Members and Directors of the Peterborough Foundation meet twice each year (in June and December) to consider grant applications. The grant application deadlines are May 1st for the June meeting and November 1st for the December meeting.

If a deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday, applications will be accepted until the end of the next business day.

Criteria

  1. The applicant must be a not for profit charitable organization with a charitable number.
  2. The applicant must be financially sound and be able to fully support its part of the funding request.
  3. The applicant must carry out its operations within the City/County of Peterborough
  4. Organizations will only be approved for funding after a two year period.
  5. It is mandatory to use the application form on the web-site.

Note: Funds will not be provided for ongoing operational costs

To facilitate the consideration of the request, the application should include the items below or download our funding guidelines and application form:

 

Project Description

  • Describe the project, including its purpose and goals.
  • Describe the involvement of members of your organization in the development and implementation of the project.
  • Cite evidence of the need for the project and state its significance to the Peterborough Community.
  • Provide a detailed budget indicating costs by category and information concerning other funding sources.

Agency Information

  • What is the purpose of the organization?
  • What services are provided? (Include target population, geographic area served and number of people served).
  • What is the annual operating budget?
  • Who are the major operational funders?

Submission of the Following Attachments Would Also Assist With the Consideration Process

  • List of Board of Directors and Officers
  • Most recent audited financial statements and annual report
  • Income and expense budget for the current year
  • A recent agency newsletter and brochure

Results of Your Application

You may receive a phone call from one of the Directors prior to the meeting to clarify any questions he/she might have about your application.

Following the June or December meeting, you will be notified promptly about the Foundation’s decision concerning your application. If your application is approved, we will send you a followup letter confirming the grant and enclosing payment.

If your organization receives a grant from the Peterborough Foundation, we appreciate public recognition where possible.
